Radicom-I Features

Live Tracking
Real-time feedback from vehicles showing vehicle status in different colours and shapes, Driving, Idle, Engine Off, PTO Active Driving, PTO Active Stationary and Poor GPS Satellite Coverage.

Historical Tracking
Plays after a minimum data load, auto scales the map to suite the history track and has slow and fast playback. Can be controlled to play a few minutes in a day.

Reports
Summary, Daily, Detailed Daily, Custom, Power Take Off (PTO), and Combined PTO / Ignition reports available. Note sensor data is reported minute by minute on the detailed daily report.

GeoFence
Designate zones for entry, timed entry and exit alarms - useful for waypoint alerts, delivery arrivals, yard security and situational awareness of fleet activities.

Messaging
Three levels of in-cab terminal messaging: Simple limited text in and out; Complex text in and out; and touch sensitive screen. Support for a range of PDA's, bar code readers, in-cab printer and driver ID systems.

Low Cost
GPRS data packaging telematics allows a greater volume of data to be transferred back to base via an 'always-on' connection at a fraction of the price of GSM technology. Prices between low cost GPRS services will vary depending on your provider.-

The LIVE Vehicle Status Map View is a simple map interface that easily allows for an 'at a glance' snap-shot of what your vehicles are up to.

As can be seen on the map interface here it is very easy to see what your vehicles are doing at any given time. Here we see a snap-shot of vehicles operating in southern England.

daily trip reports

Daily Trip Reports provide basic information on:
start and stop locations
travel time
distance
stop time

More detailed information is displayed in the 'Standard Detailed Report'.

Alternatively, the operator can set up their own custom report to tell them exactly what they need to know.

Pto reports

Click to Expand - Radicom-I Power Take Off (PTO) Standard Report
The Power Take Off (PTO) Standard Report allows the operator to assess what activity a vehicle has done in a given time-scale.

Geofence alert zones

Record the work time of mobile staff based on accurate times and locations. Plan, improve and deliver fair work time. Define where time is lost in vehicle based jobs.

Provide drivers with real-time information support for their tasks. Route alteration, time optimisation.

Reduce overall costs by 5 - 10% with a payback on the system being made in the first year via capital spend.

Skip Delivery and Waste Disposal

Radicom-i | Waste Disposal Vehicle TrackingThe delivery of skips to users plus their collection and emptying of them using tracking minimises administration time. Tracking of all actions can be supplied if required and analytics for input to other systems.

Tracking in this regard is used to improve productivity in terms of administration costs and the ability to define the next job based on driver availability during a busy day.

Council Applications: Gully Cleaning

Radicom-i | Gully Cleaning Vehicle TrackingThe Radicom-i system allows a database to be attached to each "asset" in a council such as gullies or other assets, which need to be maintained.

The Radicom-i Vehicle Tracking system can track a Gully cleaning unit to the asset location, monitoring and providing 'current action' information on both cleaning arm and the water washer as well.

All the records of cleaning can be generated by the vehicle against the asset database and reports can be generated from the asset database. Administration functions of Gully cleaning can be reduced dramatically, no paper records are required plus it is simpler to reschedule visits to deal with obstructed gullies.

Other Applications

Vehicle Tracking can be considered in a number of ways some are the obvious ways of locating vehicles and providing management information on their efficient use. Other use of the tracking data can be of considerable benefit to users of the system based on the timing and distance information gathered by the tracking system.

Sub Contractor Monitoring

Radicom-i | Subcontractor TrackingIf we consider an electrician out on site to fix a fault, the one part of the costs, which is simple to manage is the cost of spare parts. The second part, which is not simple to manage or to prove is time, how do you ensure the time billed was reasonable. The first portion of the time cost is getting to and from site. Using a tracking system the time monitoring become simple, as does the travelling distance. With Tracking fitted to the electrician's vehicle it is possible to show the time taken to and from the site plus the distance travelled.

Radicom-i | On site tracking
The second stage is the time on site. The tracking unit can define the time spent on site performing the tasks electronically. Thus it is possible to define the time a contractor is spending performing the tasks required. These measurements then allow you to produce information to verify Invoice values in the case of Sub-contractors.

Radicom-i | internal softwareAlternatively in the case of internal staff the tracking measurements can be linked to internal software systems to provide a low cost administration mechanism. The tracking system will show the location visited the times associated with the job and can then have a status recorded against the job. The key benefit of such a facility is the ability to log the time and results of a job by the person carrying out the task. Paper based system require information to be written down, paper must then be passed to be processed all added costs.

The job can be measured based on an automated system with minimum paperwork required for job complete. Only when follow up action is required will action be required in administration to ensure the job is completed with a second visit.

Summary

Small changes in operating methods provide considerable financial benefit. A small improvement in time management of a remote workforce can generate considerable improvements in productivity. The Tracking system provides the "eyes and ears" for managers to see how the remote workforce operates and thus they can provide the guidance to improve productivity. This is just as applicable to sales staff as it is to a plumber or an electrician working remote from a company base.
